    Richard L. Kitterman D.V.M.

  Practice owner and medical director

Dr. Kitterman is a long-time staple of the Richmond veterinary community.  He is a Kansan native, receiving his undergraduate in Animal Science from Kansas State University, followed by his Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine in 1984.  He practiced in the Richmond area for 3 years before taking over over Oxbridge Veterinary Clinic in 1987.  Dr. Kitterman quickly garnered a reputation as a fine practitioner, and one of very few that provide care for exotics.  His daily routine has him as likely to see a pet snake or chicken as a dog or cat.  If you have pocket pets, small mammals, birds, or reptiles, then you likely already know Dr. Kitterman.  Chesterfield has certainly been lucky to have him in this area.

Dr. Kitterman resides in southwest Chesterfield County, and spends much of his free time cultivating his park-like flower garden and koi pond.  He also enjoys woodworking, rock collecting, and photography.

Associate Veterinarians

Jennifer L. Kistler D.V.M.

An associate of Oxbridge Veterinary Clinic, Dr. Kistler was born and raised in Pennsylvania, but most certainly is a Richmonder at heart.  She graduated from University of Richmond with a B.S. in Business Administration, followed by her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from VA/MD Regional College of Veterinary Medicine in 1994.  Dr. Kistler then returned to Richmond and joined our staff.

Dr. Kistler currently resides in Northside with her three rescued cats; Squirrel, Spyder, and Rip.  She enjoys weekend gardening, competitive swimming, and family time.  Recently, Dr. Kistler has garnished a reputation for designing and making Apple Head Dolls, an Appalachian traditional folk doll.  She enjoys the artistry and the history behind these fascinating little dolls.

Dr. Kistler is a wonderful, caring vet, and we are very lucky to have her here a Oxbridge Veterinary Clinic.  She is an active member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the Virginia Veterinary Medical Association, and Virginia Academy of Small Animal Medicine.  Professionally, Dr. Kistler strives to provide the best in preventative medicine, thereby greatly enhancing the animal-human bond.

Laird R.D. Williams, D.V.M.

Dr. Williams was born in Chievres, Belgium, but was raised in Williamsburg, and moved to Richmond in 1989 and now considers it home.  He received undergraduate degrees in Biology and in Psychology from VCU, followed by a Master's degree in Biology.  He then attended VA/MD Regional College of Veterinary Medicine, receiving his Doctorate in 2006.

Dr. Williams was active in laboratory research throughout his education, and has several publications and co-authorships.  He also was the recipient of numerous awards.  However, Dr. Williams is truly is an educator at heart, and considers among his finest achievements his recognition in 2000 from Henrico County for his mentoring involvement in their High School Student Enrichment Program.

Dr. Williams and his wife Kasey live in Southside, where they are raising two boys, Grayson and James.  He spends any free time he has with his family and their two dogs, Diesel and Greta, and enjoys yard work, a good book, and finding little "projects".  Dr. Williams is active in the American Veterinary Medical Association, the Virginia Veterinary Medical Association, and the International Veterinary Academy of Pain Management.  Professionally, Dr. Williams has always had great interest in challenging surgical cases, but considers advancing and promoting pain management in animals his primary focus.
