RECEPTIONIST
Responsibilities include scheduling appointments, answering the telephone, setting up new clients and patients, preparation and maintenance of medical records, filling prescriptions, over the counter sales, mailings, computer operation, financial transactions, filing, and front office and reception area maintenance. Receptionists will assume the responsibility for acquiring the medical and legal information necessary for the medical care of the patients (pets).
VETERINARY TECHNICIANS
Technicians have either completed a two year college course at an accredited veterinary technician school or have passed a nationally held test after working in a veterinary hospital for two years. Technicians are responsible for hospital maintenance, assisting the doctors, laboratory procedures, radiology, client communication, medical procedures, pharmacy, operation and maintenance of instruments and equipment, inventory, daily treatment of hospitalized patients, assisting in the operating room and maintenance of the OSHA and Hazardous Materials programs.
VETERINARY ASSISTANTS
Assistants are not required to have formal training or a college degree. Their duties include assisting the doctor and/or veterinary technician, daily care of hospitalized patients, assisting in the exam rooms, and cleaning and maintenance of the facility and equipment.
